Color Theory for Painters
Instructor: Alec Zemper
Beginner - Advanced
3 Week Class
Wednesdays 1:00pm-4:00pm
March 5th - 19th
Materials are included in all of our classes.
This class goes beyond traditional color theory, focusing on the practical application of color mixing and its role in painting and how painting is perceived. Designed for painters of all levels, the course combines essential theoretical concepts with hands-on exercises to help students master the use of color in their work.
Through guided projects and demonstrations, students will explore how to mix accurate and harmonious colors, understand the effects of light and shadow on color, the benefits of working within a limited palette, and how to mix complementary and analogous schemes. Emphasis will be placed on applying these principles directly to painting, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
